Still in the Storm

The EP "Still in the Storm" is the 2nd release from Simon Hebeltoft and has, to an even greater degree than on the debut from 2016, been created in private. Isolated days, midwinter 2020. Located in an old parsonage from 1874, with a view of a flooded garden, near a windswept piece of Danish north coast. With the necessary help from local musicians and the available instruments, in a simply decorated singing workshop, "Still in the Storm" takes its starting point. The six musical influences on the vinyl cut appear simple and raw in a melancholy universe that in song, text and music, reflects a highly topical present, with restrictions, isolation, limitation and a growing longing for closeness. The lyrics from Simon Hebeltoft, jump freely and fragmented from images and themes of transience, powerlessness, vulnerability and separation, to the more hopeful in setting sail and following his dreams. It reflects on how we can be together when reality rejects a physical encounter, and it is asked whether there is life behind the shadows and screens we seek cover behind when life shoots sharply.
