Under trætoppene i Sorø

This debut album from Danish jazz pianist, Alexander Bak, and his trio evokes the sensation of a dreamy stroll through a Scandinavian forest with towering trees and tranquil lakes. Throughout the year of composing this music, Alexander battled severe chronic back pain, which threatened to derail his career as a pianist. However, finding solace in walks through the forests near his hometown and the process of composing infused him with a renewed sense of hope, palpable in every note of this album.

Bak collaborates with some of Denmark's most promising award-winning young talents from the jazz scene: Nikolaj Bangsgaard on drums and Emil Madsen on double bass. The wonderful Mads Oldenskov on guitar and Christian Holm-Svendsen on saxophone also join for two tracks, adding depth to the ensemble's sound.
