öð [øh]

öð is a longing for warmth. Not the kind you can measure, but the kind you feel when someone stays at the table a little longer. When silence does not need filling. When music feels less like a performance and more like a space. 

Faroese producer and composer Benjamin Djurhuus presents his debut album öð [øh] — shaped by eight musicians and acoustic instruments including guitar, mandolin, banjo, resonator guitar, and string quartet. Rooted in folk traditions and recorded live in the studio, the music carries an intimate and vivid sound. 

While the Faroe Islands are often linked to fog, wind and darkness, öð searches for the opposite: a warm, calm sonic space.

öð is about presence, space, and staying a little longer.
