My Memory of You by Britt Hein is a poetic jazzalbum with songs about love, memories, grief, and gratitude. In close collaboration with lyricist Lisa Freeman, Britt Hein has composed a collection of songs beautifully interwoven with interpretations of works with Freeman’s lyrics and music by some of Denmark’s most distinguished jazzcomposers, including Jørgen Emborg, Niels Lan Doky, Carsten Dahl, Torben Westergaard, Nikolaj Hess, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen.
Surrounding Britt Hein is an amazing ensemble of Danish musicians; Nikolaj Hess (piano), Jesper Bodilsen (double bass), and Morten Lund (drums) forming the musical core of the album. Peter Marott (flugelhorn) and Mia Engsager (trombone) add warmth and subtle nuances to the organic soundscape, where storytelling takes center stage.
