Nordic Lyric Pieces

Nordic Lyric Pieces consists of works by the most well-known composers in the respective Nordic countries. From Grieg across the street to Sibelius, many of the pieces will be familiar to most, but there are also pieces such as August Windings Evening Mood that have never been recorded before. The exchange between the familiar and the unknown operates for the benefit of Villén & Sjolin's mission: to open new doors to the classical world, invite more people inside and create new understandings of what the works can do. A well-known work shows the way to a lesser-known and an arrangement for only two instruments creates renewed presence in the recording and the opportunity to tour with the works in the corners, where they would never be performed in their original orchestra crew.
