In the summer of 2024, the collaboration with chief conductor Remy Le Boeuf led to a new acquaintance with singer Danielle Wertz, with whom Nordkraft played a big concert during the Aarhus Jazz Festival. After that, Nordkraft Big Band went into the studio and recorded a new album.
Danielle and Remy developed new material together consisting of several new compositions from their own hand, along with two cover songs by Joni Mitchell and Madison Cunningham. All arranged directly for the Nordkraft Big Band by Remy, in his very own, highly praised, musical language.
"Like the reflection of light in the surface of the river on a gray day. Where the plastic surface reflects the light back - but with an underlying melancholic gray tone. A journey with ballads and big big band sound - an experience that created melancholy without confusing it with sadness". This is how a very satisfied reviewer describes the concert during the Aarhus Jazz Festival.
