Konfrontationer med Rifbjerg
Om udgivelsen
The CD "Confrontations with Rifbjerg" contains 18 songs composed to poems by the Danish poet Klaus Rifbjerg (1931-2015), by Martin Palsmar (*1970): 8 songs for mixed choir, 6 songs for baritone and piano, and 4 for baritone, piano, and percussion.
The CD includes texts spanning Rifbjerg's production from his debut in 1956 with the collection "Under vejr med mig selv" (Getting wind of Myself) to the collections "Efterkrig,"(Afterwar) "Konfrontation (Confrontation)," and the tribute poem to Olof Palme after the 1986 assassination, up to the collection "Septembersang"(September Song) from 1988.
The title refers to a central concept in Rifbjerg's poetry, introduced in the poetry collection "Konfrontation" – taking an object or concept for closer analysis. However, what is analyzed is not the object itself, but the impression the encounter (confrontation) makes on the poet – and in this case, the composer's attempt to capture the impression the confrontation with the poems has on him.
Participants: The chamber choir Hymnia conducted by Flemming Windekilde, Palsmar Players: Jakob Bloch, Baritone, Christian Westergaard, Piano, Lars Vestergaard Møller, percussion.
Duration: 73 minutes.
