Stéphane Tran Ngoc
A musician constantly seeking new artistic expression, Stéphane Tran Ngoc has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician in the world's most prestigious concert halls (Salle Pleyel, Carnegie Hall in New York, Suntori Hall in Tokyo, National Concert Hall in Beijing, etc.), and with orchestras such as the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, the Montpellier National Orchestra, the Île-de-France National Orchestra, the Mexican National Orchestra, and the Sinshei Symphony Orchestra.
His interest in instruments has led him to become an advocate of the baritone violin (an instrument tuned an octave lower than the violin), as well as to play historical instruments, including the viola d'Amore. His recordings include the premiere of Serge Nigg's Sonata for Violin and Piano (Grand Prix du Disque), as well as sonatas by Ysaÿe, Bach, and Schumann, and an album dedicated to Ravel, all of which have been critically acclaimed.
