The legendary Danish instrumental orchestra, Ibrahim Electric, is still going strong. The band is now releasing their 12th full album "FAST FIRE" on vinyl and on selected streaming services.
The three musicians met in the studio for two days without any preparation. They wanted to do a spontaneous session, where they could create the music together in the studio live and use the common musical languish they have created for over 2 decades of intense interaction.
"Normally we practice a lot for our record recordings. Here we wanted to try something new. The idea was that we wouldn't spend a lot of time practicing, but just meet and jam the music to a great extent", says Niclas Knudsen. "The premises were different from those we usually go into the studio with. A simple theme, a sketch, was written for some of the songs, but it also happened that we just played - without a theme, without anything. We can do that because we know each other so well. And that came through on the record," says Jeppe Tuxen. "We know how we influence each other. When Jeppe plays something specific, I know where he wants to go, and I can react to it. Niclas knows my playing in the same way, we just have to press a few buttons, and everyone is on board. It's fantastic. It's like a musical marriage," says Stefan Pasborg.
The record "FAST FIRE" was created over two days in 'The Village' studio in Copenhagen. The result is another beautiful new stew by Ibrahim Electric based on a melting pot of styles that the band just wants to call: afrojazzfunksurfpunkrockabillyblues.

The danish trio Ibrahim Electric never disappoints. Their quirky – provocative – extroverted - original music sticks its fingers into just about every musical cookie jar, and sends cascades of pearls from the speakers. Ibrahim Electric’s style is not for the pedantic. There are elements of old fashioned soul/jazz – afrobeat - 60’s acid-power-beat - and of course the trio’s trademark: the fast, almost-punk passages in which the three musicians merge into one playful organism.
Each of the band-members possess an extremely high level of musicianship plus very large reserves of musical ENERGY ! That combination and their mutual love for playing music with each other for almost 20 years now, has made this unit extraordinary! Whether Niclas is playing a guitar solo in the spirit of Ali Farka Toure, Jeppe is playing a solo that leads your mind to the Hammond-icons of the 1960’s, or Stefan is playing a drum-solo with avantgarde elements, the one thing that overshines it all, is their mutual love for playing and performing, and the sheer intensity of their expression!
