Om udgivelsen
Mårten Lundgren has on this album turned to his early heroes in jazz and the musicians that made him love jazz music. Therefore he has written eight compositions in the style of the different role models he had during his development as a jazz trumpet player. You can hear influences by Phil Woods, Tom Harrel, Harry James, Freddie Hubbard and others. He has also added one of the most beautiful jazz ballads written,“Nån” (“Someone”) by the Swedish alto sax player Christer Boustedt which he fell in love with the first time he heard it.
On this record Mårten plays with he's quartet which consists of Zier Romme Larsen (piano), Ida Hvid (bass) and Cornelia Nilsson (drums) and he has also invited his old friend and fantastic alto sax player Johan Hörlén who plays the lead alto sax in the WDR Big Band in Köln.
