MALA (CD)

In the Ghanaian language Ga, the word MALA means “I will sing!” The international BonNoir Trio draw inspiration from traditional music of West Africa, Blues and Jazz. Their music is open, groovy and lyrical, with lots of space for improvisation and the magic of the moment. BonNoir Trio has played together since 2016, when Danish tenorplayer Katrine Suwalski, and Simon Winse (BF/FR) met on a tour with Há Orchestra in Ghana. They decided to start a musical collaboration. Katrine asked her longtime friend, the Denmark-based virtuoso percussionist Ayi Solomon (GH), to join in. After a bunch of concerts in Denmark, France and Burkina Faso, here they are: BonNoir Trio with their first album MALA
